Uganda regulates online gambling properly, and then sets the entry age higher than almost anywhere else on earth.
Twenty-five is the legal minimum, under the Lotteries and Gaming Act 2016. The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board campaigns on it publicly and expects licensed operators to enforce it. In practice this means an under-25 account can survive registration and then fail at the first withdrawal, when documents are checked — with the balance held rather than refunded.
2026 was an expensive year. Parliament passed a 15% withholding tax on net winnings and standardised a 30% rate on operators from July. Player-facing terms have tightened in response, particularly on bonuses.
